About Me

I am a young video game artist and designer from Perth Western Australia. I have just finished a bachelor's degree in Digital Media, majoring in Games Art and Design. I am a 3D modeller, animator, 2D concept artist, UI artist, texture artist, musician and overall game designer.

As well as working on countless personal games projects I have worked on the following professional projects:

BattleFood

In 2011, starting as an assistant for Josh Whitkin of Murdoch University, I began prototyping BattleFood before working full time on the project for almost a year. All art assets ranging from the characters, props, menus and UI were created by me. I created all the animations and produced all the music in the game. I also contributed to a lot of the user testing for BattleFood and later on took a stronger designer roll and made decisions for the final product. I also was involved in the promotion of the game by designing promotional posters and editing a trailer video using my video editing skills.

In 2012 I worked as a research assistant for Murdoch University, investigating the positive effects of game development in building cooperation and self efficacy in children. I worked for a term at Hilton Primary school, conducting research and helping kids realize their own game ideas. Starting with simply re-creating the students drawings and slowly moving in to game designs and mechanics. The end result was Zombie Pollution, a small web game where all the characters, world and story were initially designed by the students. Using Construct 2, I created the entire game myself in under a month.

For a short period of time in August 2012 I worked as a concept artist and UI designer for Word Pivot on their interactive reading app.

Outside These City Walls

Around mid 2013 in worked for Handwritten Games, working on a card game that works as a short story in puzzle form. I digitally painted the artwork for the cards and the box. The game ended up winning the 'best non-digital game' category in freeplay.com's 2013 awards.
